We know you can't wait to get started, and after welcoming you to Zimbabwe and a few brief formalities, it's time to get out there and explore. Zimbabwe has some amazing wildlife, and we know you're about to have the trip of a lifetime.

You'll visit Hwange National Park, which is one of the best places to see wildlife anywhere in southern Africa. This massive park offers a good mix of quiet trails and an excellent safari infrastructure. It is also a fantastic place to look for predators, with lion, African wild dog and cheetah all being relatively common. The elephant concentrations can be mind-boggling, especially in the Dry season. The rest of the Big Five are present here too. Hwange lies in western Zimbabwe, bordering Botswana, at the eastern edge of the critically important Kavango–Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area, which stretches across five countries.

It's a popular, well-run place with expansive grounds bordering the park, friendly service and modern, light-filled rooms. You can also relax in the bar-restaurant or around the swimming pool.

Hwange National Park

Get to know incredible Hwange National Park. This is a brilliant place to see wildlife, including some of Africa's largest elephant herds and an array of predators that includes lion, cheetah, leopard, spotted hyena and African wild dog. Zimbabwe's largest park has a terrific safari infrastructure, but there are also fantastic wilderness trails where you can immerse yourself in the silence of wild Africa. Hwange is in western Zimbabwe, close to the border with Botswana, and it is part of the vitally important Kavango–Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area.

Zambezi National Park

With Victoria Falls at its eastern end and the mighty Zambezi River marking its northern boundary, Zambezi National Park has so much to offer you. Part of the park's appeal does indeed come from these two giants of the natural world, as well as its attractive mix of typical southern African features such as savannah grasslands and mopane woodlands. But there's also plenty of wildlife: highlights include elephants, giraffes, zebras, sable antelopes and buffaloes. If you're really lucky, you might also see the park's populations of lions, leopards and cheetahs. It's a great park for birding too.
