Welcome to Zimbabwe! It's time to get your safari started, and after some minor introductory formalities, we'll get you out there on this wonderful safari journey of discovery.

One of Africa's mightiest rivers and an icon of the southern African safari, the Zambezi has almost as many personalities as it does miles. Go birding, watch wildlife come to drink along its banks, or sense the gathering suspense as it nears Victoria Falls in all its explosive glory.

Chobe National Park

Welcome to Botswana's best national park for watching wildlife. Chobe is like an extension of the Okavango Delta, and contains two of Botswana's most rewarding wildlife areas: Savuti and Chobe Riverfront. Big cats are a real feature in these parts, but it's the big herds of really big elephants that will provide many of your most memorable sightings.

Get really close to elephants as they come down to drink at the waterhole in Elephant Sands Game Reserve. Elephants pass by the waterhole throughout the day, making this one of the best places to see elephants anywhere. You might even see lions.

Day 5

Okavango Delta

You'll be exploring the Okavango Delta, one of Africa's most remarkable natural places. Every year, the Delta floods and every year the trails are different depending on the water levels. The interplay of water and dry land makes for some fascinating wildlife encounters. Expect sightings of elephants, hippos, crocs, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and more, and the big cats are never far away.

Maun

Enjoy some time in Maun, northern Botswana's safari gateway town. It has some good restaurants, accommodation and shops, as well as an attractive setting right by the Thamalakane River.

This evening one of our representatives will take you to your hotel.
This evening we'll be serving you a dinner to remember.

Sedia Hotel

Hotel

Sedia Hotel is your base while you're in Maun, and it's a good one. Most of the appealing rooms have their own private terrace or balcony that looks out over the hotel's gardens, and the riverside location is a real plus. Maun can get very warm, and the swimming pool is perfect on a hot afternoon. There's also a bar and restaurant at the hotel.

Day 6

Okavango Delta

Return to the Okavango Delta for more time looking for wildlife in this unique setting.

Traveling in a Mokoro, Okavango Delta

We think you'll fall in love with the Okavango Delta when you explore with us in a mokoro (dugout canoe). The mokoro is a way of life for the local inhabitants out here in this land without roads. You might see wildlife, including elephants, hippos, crocs, and plenty of birds. But the real highlight is experiencing the Delta at a wonderfully slow pace.

Transfer by Road, Maun to Okavango Delta
Transfer time; about 90 minutes
A guided tour of Tana's historic Haut-Ville incorporates visits to palaces, churches and other sites associated with the defunct Imerina royalty.

Afternoon

We'll serve you lunch in Okavango Delta.
This afternoon you'll travel with us by mokoro (dugout canoe) through the Okavango Delta. Enjoy the wildlife and the silence, as well as the slow pace of river life.

Transfer time; about 90 minutes
